JUTELAUNE was created by Julia. She was born in Munich and grew up in the beautiful island of Menorca. Once back to Munich, it was necessary for her to bring a part of the Mediterranean closer. And so Jutelaune was born, a venture that seeks to reflect the meaning of Menorca as well as Spanish culture and most iconic footwear products.

PHILOSOPHY

In a world saturated with ephemeral fashion products, Jutelaune believes in a shoe that knows no season. They aim to offer a sustainable high quality product handcrafted by local artisans in Spain. This implies working hand to hand with local manufacturers. Thereby we produce simple, stylish and above all, ethical shoes.

PRODUCT ORIGIN

Shoes are made by certified local artisans from Menorca (Avarcas) and from La Rioja (Espadrilles). Both are known as traditional shoes from the Spanish culture.

The original avarcas are only handcrafted in Menorca by generations of local artisans, which carry out the task of continuing to manufacture a shoe worn by many generations in this magical island.

The espadrilles are made by artisans since 1982, who are committed to maintain the crafting process of the espadrilles intact.

PRODUCT MATERIALS

Jutelaune leather manufacturers are members of the Leather Working Group, which seeks to improve the leather manufacturing industry by creating alignment on environmental priorities, bringing visibility to best practices and providing suggested guidelines for continual improvement.

The jute is a 100% biodegradable fiber. Their manufacturer provides them soles made by 100% natural jute fibers, 35% of which are recycled.

The laces used in the espadrilles are made by pre-used or recycled yarns and own the Ecolife certificate.

Packaging boxes are made with 100% recycled paper and are 100% recyclable.
